Wednesday, February 17, 2021 (and the following six Wednesdays)
8 p.m. ET
Zoom (link will be sent in confirmation email)

In less than a month, on February 17, the Lenten season of reflection and preparation for Easter will begin with ashes and a reminder of our mortality. It will end in the light of a new fire, the celebration of Easter, and the promise of eternal life.

Either as a part of your Lenten preparation for Easter or for a greater understanding of what Catholics believe, all are invited to read Gerhard Lohfink’s 2020 book, Is That All There Is? On Resurrection and Eternal Life, along with our alumni chaplain, Father Damian O’Connell, S. J.  We will meet by Zoom on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. for seven weeks, starting on Ash Wednesday, February 17, and ending March 31, the Wednesday of Holy Week. We will read and discuss fewer than 60 pages a week for 45 to 60 minutes.

Since the plan is for these sessions to be interactive, it is necessary to limit them to 15 participants. Please do feel personally invited and register at the link below. Once you register, Fr. O’Connell will follow up via email with the readings for each week. We encourage you to purchase the book as soon as possible so that you can begin the first reading. The book is available on Amazon and at Barnes & Noble.
