Jane Bartnett Galvin, '76, has served on the Marymount Alumnae Board of Directors during two separate terms. She also served on the Washington, DC alumnae chapter board. Currently, Jane is a Public Relations/Public Affairs Consultant. She previously served as Director of Strategic Communications for the State University of New York Maritime College in Throggs Neck, New York. She led her own public relations firm for 15 years and worked as a senior public affairs consultant in New York City at two nationally recognized public relations firms. After graduating from Marymount, she went on to complete a Master of Public Administration degree at American University in Washington, DC and then began her career in the news business, as a producer at ABC NEWS in Washington, DC.
During her junior year at Marymount, Jane studied as a visiting student at Fordham University, Rose Hill. She is also married to a Fordham graduate. Jane is very committed to strengthening the ties between the Marymount and Fordham communities. She believes that together, the Marymount and Fordham alumni can open new doors of opportunity that will benefit not only the Marymount and Fordham alumni communities, but the young men and women who are today's Fordham students as well. Carrying on the Marymount Legacy Fund, supporting the work of the fund and creating new avenues for Marymount graduates to take part in many of the opportunities and offerings available to the Marymount community through Fordham, will be one of her primary goals.
